Just a note to let you know that we were very pleased with the airing of America's Most Wanted. We understand that the detectives received approximately 30 calls, and a handful of those were being seriously pursued... We are also in the process of searching for someone to update the website. We have some ideas we'd like to incorporate and it would be nice to keep the junk out of the guestbook. We are actually talking to a few people and are anxious to make some changes. Currently, we cannot access the webmail for this site, so if you have written and received no response, that is why. Thank you for your support. We will update as information becomes available.
We received a phone call this morning to inform us that America's Most Wanted will air Angelo's case this Saturday, April 16th, Channel 2. Naturally, we are a little apprehensive because previous dates to air have been postponed, however, we have been advised that this air date looks pretty solid. Lead Detective Mike Godlewski will be flying to Washington DC to answer phone lines and has his flight booked. It has been over two years since this crime was committed and we are very grateful to America's Most Wanted for their help in bringing the case back to the attention of the public. Hopefully someone with information will come forward. Thank you for your continuing support.....
I am sorry to say that Angelo's case will not be on America's Most Wanted this Saturday night. They assured us that it should be on in the next few weeks.... We probably won't know for sure until the Wednesday of the week it is broadcast. We appreciate your support and will let you know if we find out anything......
AIR DATE FOR AMERICA'S MOST WANTED HAS CHANGED.... Looks like it's not going to air on Angelo's birthday week. (Tomorrow Angelo would have been celebrating his 24th birthday..) It is now set to air on the following Saturday, January 29th, Channel 2, 9:00pm. Keep your fingers crossed....
We just received word from the Sheriff's Department that Angelo's case will be aired on America's Most Wanted on Saturday, January 22. It will be on Channel 2 at 9:00pm. We are hopeful that this will help further the investigation. Thank you to the Sheriff's Department for all their hard work and perseverance and to America's Most Wanted for their invaluable assistance.
I'm sorry it's been so long since we've posted anything, but truthfully, there is not much to report. However, we wanted to let you know that we just found out there will be something on TV this Tuesday. Thanks to The Carole Sund/Carrington Foundation, Angelo's case will be highlighted during a show called "Closing Arguments" on Court TV. At some point during the show, possibly at the end, a picture and brief synopsis of the case will be shown. You would need to check your cable listing for the Court TV channel and the time "Closing Arguments" airs. I believe in San Lorenzo it is channel 65 and the time is from 3pm-5pm. We have been having a lot of problems with the website and have once again changed hosts and currently have someone working on the site to fix everything up.... We are still patiently awaiting the airing of America's Most Wanted. We still hear from them but have yet to get a confirmed air date. Still hoping that the airing of one of these programs might bring some new information.... Thank you for checking in on the site......
Once again we have been moved by the generosity and goodwill of our community. We recently received an anonymous donation of an autographed Mickey Mantle baseball and an autographed Charles Garner Raider jersey!!! (We have also received an offer to donate from a staunch supporter and friend of Angelo's of other signed jerseys.) The baseball and jersey were accompanied by a heartfelt letter offering sympathy and vouching support and signed "a Caring Neighbor". We would like to extend our deepest thanks for your kind words and donation. We have received many suggestions on how to go forward with an auction/fundraiser and are busy investigating the different avenues. Thank you so much for your input. We are still awaiting word from America's Most Wanted on an air date. They have been in touch and are confident it will air soon. We are working on an updated flyer to announce the involvement of America's Most Wanted and will be passing those out soon. We will post the air date as soon as we are informed.... We will be moving the site soon to a new host. It might mean that the site will be down for a few days - but we will be back. We have no plans to stop until justice is served..... Thank you for your continuing support.
We hope everyone likes the updated web site. Thank you Whit Anderson of Witco for your excellent work. Thanks also to my brother, Jessie, for his invaluable input and connections. We are very happy with the site changes and are looking forward to its completion. BIG NEWS!!! For those of you who haven't heard..... America's Most Wanted was in town last week filming for a piece on Angelo's case. They were here for 3 days. They were wonderful, professional and compassionate people. We are very thankful for their interest. We are anxious and hopeful that when the show is aired the detectives will be closer to solving this murder. We will let you know as soon as we are informed of the air date. ALSO... Thank you San Lorenzo Little League for honoring Angelo's memory. Last Saturday, on opening day, they revealed Angelo's name etched into the marble under the flag poles at the ballpark. We know that Angelo would be proud. He enjoyed playing San Lorenzo Little League ball for many years. Thank you.... Tomorrow, March 28th, will mark one year since the murder of our son. Many of you have asked if we have an event planned. We do not. We have chosen not to do anything public on the date of his death. We will be home with family remembering his life. We hope you will do the same. As always, thank you for your support.
The Macklin family generously donated this authentic NFL football and helmet autographed by some of the greatest names in Raiders history. We're still deciding on how we can make the most of these items to boost the reward fund. If you have any suggestions (or offers!) feel free to send an email to info@helpang.com

There have been 2 events lately that we would like to share with you. On Thursday, January 15th, Coach Rei of the Arroyo Wrestling Team honored Angelo's memory by presenting our family with a photo of Angelo in his wrestling singlet surrounded by his accomplishments during his wrestling years at Arroyo. A larger version of the one we were given hangs in the Arroyo High School Wrestling Room. It was presented by Coach Rei with a speech that touched us and brought back many, many memories of Angelo and his love of wrestling. It was a part of his life we enjoyed sharing with him. They also dedicated a traveling scale that was donated to the team by John and Emily Barbieri. Thank you...... The second event was held on what would have been Angelo's 23rd birthday, January 19th. We were invited to a celebration in his honor at Gallagher's Pub, planned by Kim Ray and Tony Jackson. As I'm sure you understand, it was a rough day for our family and coupled with the fact that it was a work nite we had only intended to "stop by" for a short time. Boy, were we impressed and strengthened by what we saw! Many, many of his friends were there. There was a beautiful cake that read "To the Brightest Star in the Sky", big, blown up pictures of Angelo everywhere, and a beautiful backdrop for the band that said Angelo. There was a prayer, and a live performance of the CD single that Ang's friends Tony, Aaron and Dani ("Bad Manors") wrote in Angelo's honor.Friends of our family showed up for support and Telemundo TV was also there and did a broadcast. It was all quite overwhelming. Thank you.I've said it before but it is worth saying again, Angelo had wonderful, thoughtful friends. Kim Ray made a very generous donation of her tips for the evening that will be going to the Arroyo Wrestling Team. Thank you Kim and Tony and everyone who was there. It was - as his friends said - "Just as Angelo would have wanted"....
To all of our wonderful family and friends.... We wish you only the best during this holiday season and the New Year. We will never forget all the kindness, love and support you have shared with us. You have kept us strong. Wishing you and yours a meaningful holiday season and Peace on Earth..... Love, Angelo, Roberta, Amanda and Bento
WOW!!! Thank you EVERYONE who attended the candlelight vigil. We cannot tell you enough how much your support means to us. There were friends that traveled from Fairfield, Vacaville, Lathrop, Manteca - on a work night!! We greatly appreciate the sacrifices everyone made to share the evening with us in Angelo's memory. The sight of all those candles going down Bockman was truly a beautiful statement. The detectives tell us that they have received leads generated from the vigil... Thank you to all those (there is a long list) who helped organize, set-up and clean-up. Thank you to the speakers. Thank you Father Paul for a meaningful service. Thank you to family, friends, neighbors, and the community of San Lorenzo for your whole hearted support for this event.
We've been keeping busy this week getting ready for the candlelight vigil. Father Paul Quante from Our Lady of Grace Parish in Castro Valley will be there along with representatives from the Sheriff's Department neighborhood watch program. Thanks to Jean Homer we will have bumper stickers to pass out. She has spent hours this past week designing, consulting, financing and negotiating the production of a bumper sticker to help remember Angelo and keep attention on his case. Thank you so much Jeanie.(and Jody) Thank you Chad for the beautiful job on the web site. Chad and my brother Jessie are responsible for the update on the web site for the candlelight vigil. We think they did a wonderful job. Thank you Chad and Jessie for donating your time and excellent work. A big thanks to Jeff Hilton from Pepsi. He made us beautiful banners to announce the candlelight vigil. We will be hanging them tomorrow at the Re/Max on Bockman Rd. and at the San Lorenzo Little League Field. Along with our family and friends, we have spent hours planning this candlelight vigil. We hope it will be a meaningful memorial to Angelo and a step toward reinforcing the neighborhood watch program. We would like the vigil to make a powerful statement to anyone that might be withholding important information to Angelo's case. We need everyone's support to make that happen. Please join us next Sunday evening. We will also be making an announcement regarding the reward fund.... Looking forward to seeing you there.....
Thank you to Jason Padilla and the people at Markstein Beverage. Once again, they have donated beautiful banners announcing the reward fund amount and web site address. One is located at Re Max Realty on Bockman Rd. in San Lorenzo, and the other is at Re Max Castro Valley on Castro Valley Blvd. Thank you John, Michele, Tim and Francine for letting us hang the banners at your offices - great locations! Planning is moving along for the Candlelight Vigil. The date is Sunday, September 28th, 8:00pm. We will meet behind the Re Max office on Bockman Rd. and walk to the corner of Bockman and Via Chiquita. We will keep you posted on upcoming details. Hope to see you there.....
Monday was very encouraging. We received $13,000 to add to the Reward Fund! The total is now $50,000!!! Thank you to Supervisors Alice Lai-Bitker, Scott Haggerty, and Nate Miley for their generous donation and support. There was also additional information released by Sergeant Scott Dudek. They are looking for the occupants of a small car that was seen near the crime. They may be witnesses or be involved. Once again, please call the Sheriff's Department of you have any information. We are working on organizing a candlelight vigil to be held on the evening of September 28th. This will mark the 6 month anniversary of Angelo's murder. We would like to ask for everyone's support in attending this event. We are hoping to come together as a community of friends, family, and neighbors to remember Angelo, keep attention on his case, and make a statement regarding community awareness of crime in our area. Please save this date and join us at the vigil. We will release time and location details as they become available. Thank you for your continued support.....
Tomorrow evening, Monday, August 25th, at 6:00pm there will be a press conference at the Bockman Shopping Center on the corner of Bockman Rd. and Via Chiquita in San Lorenzo. We will be accepting a generous donation from the County Board of Supervisors. This will raise the reward fund and hopefully keep attention on the case. We were unaware that friends and family were encouraged to attend or we would have posted this event sooner. We realize that this is extremely late notice, however, if you are available to come out and show your support we would love to see you there. Thank you.
This message is to the person who signed the guestbook "i'd rather not say". If you have information regarding our son's murder, I am begging you to contact Detective Mike Godlewski or Sergeant Scott Dudek with the Alameda County Sheriff's Department. You can remain anonymous. Please try to understand the hopelessness we feel when we know that there are people out there who have information and choose not to come forward. Please call or write.....
To everyone who has signed the guestbook.... Thank you so much for visiting the site and sharing your memories, thoughts and prayers with us. We love reading your messages and are thankful for the memories it provides. It is obvious that our son had many wonderful and caring friends. Thank you.....
Thank you again to family and friends who remain wholeheartedly supportive. With your help we were able to distribute 2000 flyers last night in Castro Valley! Thank you to Lt. Mitch Mueller and the California Highway Patrol for their flawless planning and assistance. Thank you Sergeant Scott Dudek and Sheriffs Department for your planning for last night and persistence in the case. We are hopeful that information will result from last nights efforts. Thank you to all that made it a success.....
Tomorrow, Thursday, July 3rd, we will be passing out flyers in Castro Valley. The Alameda County Sheriffs Department and the California Highway Patrol have organized together to direct traffic on Castro Valley Blvd. at Lake Chabot Road into a single lane so we can pass out flyers from the median. We will start at 7:00p.m. and go through 10:00p.m.. We are only allowed to have 3-4 people on the median passing out flyers. However, if you would like to come and show your support it would be appreciated. Thank you....
Saturday was the very successful Super Flea Market at ReMax in San Lorenzo. John and Michele and their team of agents (angels) have done it again! They donated $2400.00 toward the reward fund that was raised at this event. They had a booth where their agents graciously donated merchandise to sell and a very profitable food booth. Thank you Re Max! I need to tell you about this man...... We were introduced to John Stidham by a mutual friend shortly after Little Angelo's death. He has been at our sides with unwavering support ever since. John and Michele (and their team at ReMax) have assisted with flyer distributions, layouts, mailings, and production. They have generated numerous donations, provided advertising support and emotional support. This is just a few of the ways they have helped. These are truly the most selfless, dedicated and community-oriented business professionals we are proud to know and call our friends. Thank you so much John, Michele and team for ALL that you have done... At the flea market, Big Ang and I had a table set up to pass out the new flyer with the composite of the suspect. We were able to talk to many friends and members of the community about Little Angelo and our search for his killer. Our friend and Cookie Lee jewelry consultant, Janet Hubbs, also had a booth there and made a very generous donation from her profits. Thank you Janet. (and helper Janet!) Thank you also to our friends Lynn and Lorien Lee for coming by to help and donating merchandise to help raise funds. Thank you Melissa Robello (and mom) for the generous donations of hot dog buns for the food booth. Thank you Michael Homer, Mark Jaegel, and Dani Masse for getting up way early to help with the set up. We could never do this without the help we receive from all of our friends and Little Angelo's friends. Please know that we deeply appreciate your help and friendships....
